During the call, you also receive information about the course, the criteria for participation, and be given the opportunity to ask any questions you may have. If, after the intake call, the course appears suitable to meet your needs, we will schedule an in-depth assessment interview with Dr. Shira Taylor. The assessment interview will help us to determine how we can best support you throughout the course.

Whether you are needing to shift your boundary patterns with family, friends, a partner or colleagues, this workshop will help you to better understand what subconscious blocks may be affecting you and how you can work with shifting these patterns in order to grow the kinds of relationships you would like to have in your life.

Dr. Shira Taylor is a physician - psychotherapist who specializes in mind/body/spirit approaches to healing and wellness. Trained as a physician at the University of Toronto, she has worked in a variety of community health centres and medical clinics across Toronto as well as in Northern Ontario and Nunavut. In 2014 she shifted her practice to focus on her area of passion, mindfulness, yoga, and mental health. Through her Minding Your Inner Monkey groups and individual psychotherapy practice, she serves people struggling with a wide variety of life difficulties including physical illnesses, depression, anxiety, chronic pain, grief, relationship challenges etc.

She is a also trained yoga instructor through the International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Organization and brings to her groups not only her medical expertise but also the lived experience of extensive personal yoga and meditation training in India and Canada. A humanitarian at heart, she enjoys teaching overseas and brings the same principles and practices with cultural adaptations to schools in India and Nigeria.

Dr. Taylor is a member in good standing of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO), the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) and the Medical Psychotherapy Association of Canada (MDPAC).

Deva Green has joined the Heart Space Team as an administrative assistant. Deva has previously worked at U of T and George Brown College in numerous administrative roles. A trained yoga instructor, an avid reader, a proud cyclist, a global citizen, and a colourful late bloomer are some ways of describing him. Deva is passionate about helping people in their life’s journey in ways big and small. He has previously worked with Dr. Taylor at Heart Space and is happy to be back again to be of service to you.

Melina Bondy (they/them), RP(Q), provides spiritually integrated, trauma-informed, somatic psychotherapy for people looking to heal and grow. They know that wellness is not a personal matter so their work examines the personal, interpersonal and collective dimensions of life through an anti-oppression framework.

Melina offers support for a range of experiences including depression, grief, anxiety, sexuality and gender transitions, spiritual seeking, religious trauma and acute medical conditions. They studied Spiritual Care and Psychotherapy at the University of Toronto’s Emmanuel College including placements at CAMH’s Gender Identity Clinic and Scarborough General Hospital. They also come with a 20-year mindfulness practice that included 9 years as a monastic in the tradition of Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh. Outside of offering psychotherapy and teaching meditation, Melina can be found hiking, biking, cooking and playing with the young ones in their life.
